Briela Dicaprio: Night at Disco

The night promised from the first moment I put on that dress. Black, adjusted, with a neckline that whispered more than shouted, but enough for all eyes to stop an extra second. A couple of high heels that made me feel powerful, as if every step was a drum stroke that marked the beginning of something unforgettable. The music received me before entering the place. The lights, dancing between blue and red, painted shadows on the walls while the bass resonated in my chest. Every corner of the album seemed to be full of promises, complicit looks and bodies that moved to the rhythm of music as if they were one.I didn’t have to wait long. I barely crossed the threshold, I felt several looks to travel. I approached the bar, asked for something and took it to my lips with a smile that knew more than I said. The ice cream flavor contrasted with the heat of the lights and bodies.A couple of songs later, someone approached. I’m not going to lie, I had noticed him before. Alto, with a shirt that was just as owed and a smile that promised more than words. His hand brushed mine as he approached, and although the gesture was casual, I felt a spark run through my skin."We danced?" He told me, and although I did not answer immediately, my body had already advanced to the movement. On the track, there was no room for doubts. His hand on my waist, mine on his neck, and the world vanished in a sea of lights and music. We danced close, too close, but no one seemed to notice or import them. My skin burned where their fingers perched, and their eyes kept me trapped, as if at that time we only existed. The night advanced like a sigh, between laughs, dances and looks loaded with tension. The heat of the moment wrapped us, and every step seemed a prelude to something else. And that’s how a simple exit to the album became something else … but hey, that is a story that may tell on another occasion.
